Taming of the Id

 

This is a short story that I wrote last year for a Creative Writing class that I was enrolled in. I am planning on incorporating this into a larger work in the future, but I think it definitely stands on its own as it is.

"Taming of the Id" was a story that I had the idea for for what must have been a year or two before I wrote the story. The title is a reference to psychoanalysis, the "Id" is what Sigmund Freud called the most base part of the human subconscious, the most animal. 

The short story is about one woman's despair and thirst for revenge in the Dutch lowlands.
